  3. The following are the rules for this echo. Please read them before
  4. posting any messages.
  5.  
  6. It is the goal of this echo to provide you with useful information about
  7. credit and credit grantors and answering your credit questions. It is
  8. my goal to make sure this echo falls within the boundries of Fidonet
  9. policy and within the laws of our government.

  13. RULE #1
  14.         Three strikes and your out. If I have to remind you for a third
  15.         time to abide by these rules, your outta here.
  16.  
  17.            Strike One: A friendly reminder posted in this echo.
  18.            Strike Two: A warning that you were again violating the rules 
  19.                        of this echo and that if it happens again, you'll 
  20.                        be unable to post in it. A copy is also sent to 
  21.                        your sysop.
  22.          Strike Three: See ya, your gone. Your no longer allowed to post 
  23.                        in this echo and your sysop will also receive a
  24.                        notice indicating the same. Further action may
  25.                        be taken if necessary.
  26.         
  27.         * Depending on the severity of the problem, I may consider a
  28.           first offense a strike three.

  30. RULE #2
  31.         Challenge the issue, not the person. Personal attacks/flaming of 
  32.         any kind will NOT be tolerated and may result in your immediate 
  33.         removal from this echo.

  35. RULE #3
  36.         Don't overquote messages. Quote what is necessary and nothing
  37.         more. This keeps cost down for sysop's who must pay to bring in
  38.         this echo.

  40. RULE #4
  41.         Stay on topic. This echo is for discussions about credit. How
  42.         to get it, how to keep it, how to manage it and how to understand
  43.         it. DO NOT REPLY TO OFF TOPIC MESSAGES.

  45. RULE #5
  46.         Do not advertise products or services in this echo. You may 
  47.         state that services our available and through whom. 
  48.         For example:

  50.         This is ok:
  51.         You can request a credit report from TRW by sending them a
  52.         copy of a credit denial letter.
  53.  
  54.         This is not ok:
  55.         Want to get a free credit report? Then call TRW today and we'll
  56.         mail you a free copy of your credit report.

  58. RULE #6
  59.         This echo may not be used to bash credit grantors. If you have 
  60.         a problem with a credit grantor, handle it yourself and not in 
  61.         this echo. However, if you have a problem with a credit grantor
  62.         and you want to find out if similar problems exists with others,
  63.         that is allowed.

  65. RULE #7
  66.         High ascii and ANSI are not allowed. Some computers will not 
  67.         display these properly. Alias's are ok, but frowned on.

  69. RULE #8
  70.         Do not disclose personal information about yourself or others
  71.         in this echo. This is an echo read by many people who you do
  72.         not know personally. Safeguard yourself, and abide by this one.

  75.         IMPORTANT!!!! Consider all advice and/or suggestions in this 
  76.         echo for what it is worth. Take into consideration that you 
  77.         may not be receiving advice from someone who knows what there 
  78.         talking about. Also consider the fact that what someone tells
  79.         you may be illegal by Federal, State and/or local laws.

  83. may be done so without notice, but in general notice will be given.
